Towcester Racecourse, Northamptonshire

The Grace Grandstand at Towcester Racecourse was completed in 1997 at a cost of £1.3M. It was seen as part of the Racecourse’s drive to attract a clientele beyond racing, being planned for conference and social uses. It has a Members’ Bar and a first class restaurant overlooking the Course. There are six hospitality boxes on the top floor with a continuous gallery with a view of the Racecourse. Major works to repair the hammerbeam roof of this Grade l listed church by J.A. Hansom. Works included the provision of temporary structure to support the roof. The picture below shows the construction of new lead gutters.

St Christopher’s Parish Centre, Blackpool

The new Parish Centre at St. Christopher’s Church, Marton, Blackpool is connected to the main axis of the church (also by this practice). The centre consists of a multi-purpose hall, a lounge, a fully equipped stage, dressing rooms and a kitchen capable of catering for small conferences. It was completed in May 2001 and dedicated by the Archbishop of York.
