Whiteley Village: New Extra Care Apartments

40 new extra care apartments and a communal building for meals and activities. Each three-storey residential building contains 20 apartments.  Materials: clay plain tiles to walls and roof; lime render. All apartments have at least two bedrooms and are between 80 and 120 sqm.

The buildings are marked in orange on the plan.

Selected as architect for the extension of Whiteley Village in Surrey, we are working with Levitt Bernstein Architects to develop a master plan and proposals for new almshouses, a care home, care hub and the conversion of historic buildings at this self-contained village for elderly people. The original village consists of over one hundred listed buildings designed in the Arts & Crafts style. All three schemes were submitted for planning consent in October 2016. Our client is Whiteley Village Trust.
